Cruising The Holy Water
I heard the engine twice before it disturbed my nap for good. I unzipped the door and wandered out toward the most beautiful car I have ever seen; a 1964 Chevelle Malibu, they split the models the following year. Tomaszewski had arrived in camp from over Alpena way and quickly related the story of his trip.

Mousing; It's A Blast
The mouse flies were unlike anything I had ever seen before, much less fished; a giant ball of deer hair with a set of vinyl ears and a tail to match. Trashed; A TCS Editorial
It isn’t the canoe race, the cold beer, or the mosquitoes that I remember most from that little mission down to the landing. I remember Chris Therssen bending over in the parking area, mere feet from the river bank, and picking up a piece of trash. The trash picking spread from there, Joel Tomaszewski reached down and picked up a flattened plastic bottle from the side of the road. I looked around and found a sandwich wrapper.

TCS Fiction
Sun Dried Bluegill Part II
He could hear the buzz of the flies well before he rounded the corner to the porch. They were circling the white five-gallon bucket like vultures and every now and again one would dive in like a Japanese Kamikaze. He stepped around the bicycles that lie on the ground and put one foot on the porch and leaned over the top of the bucket; what he saw did not surprise him.
